Wrinkling
| Phenomenon | Irregular wrinkles appear on the film surface. |
|---|---|
| Cause | A. Applying synthetic enamel too thick. B. Applying at high temperatures in high humid condition. C. Diluting synthetic enamel with lacquer thinner. D. Applying urethane clearcoat on lacquer basecoat film. |
| Repair | A. For severe wrinkles, remove the film completely and refinish. B. For light wrinkles, sand with #400 sandpaper and cover with urethane primer-surfacer(PS-330, PS-550) and apply topcoat. |
| Prevention | A. In case of using synthetic enamel, follow the standard specifications. B. Avoid direct sunlight before the film completely dried. C. Do not use lacquer thinner with synthetic enamel. D. Do not apply different types of paint together. E. Do not apply before the film completely reacted. |
